I was really happy with this tour. We have lived near Richmond for 14 years and I had never been to any of these restaurants and might not even have gone in to them if I wasn't on this tour. It was really hard to pick out my favorite. I liked each one of them "the Best". I was given the tour as a Christmas gift from my daughter. It was really special because we really don't want any more "stuff" to dust or take care of, besides,we travel "a Lot". and it was great finding really good food in my own back yard. In the future, I want to do this with friends and I plan to go to different parts of the City. Good Luck in the future.

Rachel was a great guide!! Enjoyed talking to chef’s and owners of some fun restaurants you might not try!! Greenleaf’s Pool Room was a great surprise with the best grilled cheese and deviled eggs and Charm School Social Club’s salted caramel ice cream was a great way to end the tour!!

Rachel gave us a wonderful food tour of the Arts District where we ate at 6 different restaurants. Crab tacos at Wong Gonzalez, deviled egg and half bbq sandwich at Greenleaf Pool Hall, pimento cheese Mac n cheese, brisket and cornbread at Fatty Smoke’s, catfish, collard greens and Mac n cheese at Mama J’s served by Mama J herself, baked feta and toast with pistachio ice cream at Salita’s. Learned a lot about the history of the area and about the restaurants themselves. Highly recommend.

Traveled around the art district sampling amazing restaurants with my 5 best friends and some wonderful couples we met on the tour. Food was amazing and the tour guide and restaurant owners were fabulous! I can’t wait to do the next one!

We had a group of 5 that went out to celebrate my birthday; none of us had done a local food tour before. Had a blast trying new foods and learning about the are we live in. Rachel and Elise were very nice and knew a lot about the area. Going back soon for another tour!

We're here in Richmond looking at neighborhoods for an upcoming move. We decided to take the Arts District food tour as a way to get to know the city. What a great choice. We had fun, great food & drink, and learned about the city with Rachel. Highly recommended!

This was such a fun day! We visited six different restaurants, all exellent. They were right when they said we would not go home hungry. We can't wait to go back to their other tours. River City Food Tours was amazing. They answered my emails immediately, made sure that each restaurant was aware of my dietary restrictions. They were awesome! Erin made the tour so much fun! Her personality, knowledge, and love of their company, and of Richmond really made all the difference. This tour is a must whether you are visiting or you live in the area. Bon Appetit!

Although advertised as 2.5 hours, I think we were enjoying ourselves for closer to three hours. Brian was an excellent guide. He's knowledgeable and funny, a great combo for that role. He not only introduced each eatery but also often arranged to have an employee of the establishment brief us on its history and food philosophy. There was not one weak link in the tour. All of the food items we sampled were no less than delicious, from crab tacos to barbequed ribs to gelato. In the case of the gelato, we were each allowed to choose the flavor we wanted. Between stops, Brian discussed buildings, architecture, and history along the route. This offering is a walking tour, but distances covered were reasonable for even the seniors among us. I highly recommend this tour. It's fun, and you'll come away full.

We had a wonderful time on the Arts District food tour. Brian was very knowledgeable about both the restaurants and area. The food was tasty and a pleasant variety of dishes were served. My family will definitely try another tour with this company in the future.

This foodie tour was so fun and delicious! A big shout out to Lindsay our tour guide who did a fabulous job. Loved all of the stops, learning about the history and discovering new places to eat. It was an easy walk through the historic district of downtown Richmond. We were a mature group (lol ) and had a great time. Thumbs up!!
